Shanghai, China, April 8, 2026 - CHC Navigation (CHCNAV) today confirmed that it has completed the necessary research, development, validation, and product optimization work to ensure its GNSS products and services remain fully prepared for the upcoming upgrade of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS).
According to information officially released by the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, the planned BeiDou adjustment will include the retirement of seven BeiDou-2 satellites currently in orbit and the discontinuation of the B2I service.
In response, CHC Navigation conducted dedicated technical assessments and validation testing across its full GNSS portfolio, including chip modules, terminal devices, and PointX services. The work focused on maintaining positioning accuracy, heading performance, and service continuity under the updated BeiDou signal environment.
Results from multi-scenario simulation and validation testing show that, in routine operating conditions, CHC Navigation users can expect consistent positioning and heading performance with no noticeable change in the overall user experience. In highly obstructed environments, such as dense forests, deep canyons, or dense urban areas, fix availability may decrease slightly under weak-signal conditions. However, standard positioning requirements for routine operations can still be met, and normal fieldwork is not expected to be affected.
To further reinforce product performance, CHC Navigation has prepared firmware updates for chip modules and terminal devices. These updates are designed to strengthen multi-frequency fusion performance, weak-signal tracking capability, and overall solution stability under the updated BeiDou constellation conditions. Firmware will be delivered automatically through CHCNAV service platforms, allowing users to complete the update by following on-screen instructions once notified.
CHCNAV PointX services have already been upgraded with an adaptive processing engine that does not rely on the B2I frequency. Additional stability enhancements have been implemented to accommodate changes in the number of available BeiDou satellites. As a result, the availability, continuity, and accuracy of CHCNAV PointX services are expected to remain stable.
CHC Navigation will continue to monitor developments related to the BeiDou system and further optimize its technologies as needed. Users who have questions regarding this adjustment or who observe performance changes in specific operating scenarios are encouraged to contact the CHCNAV technical support team for assistance.
