Shanghai, China – August 19, 2025 – CHC Navigation (CHCNAV), a global provider of geospatial solutions, announced the release of the i85 Laser IMU-RTK GNSS, a compact receiver designed for reliable 3D data capture in challenging field environments. By integrating a high-performance GNSS module, an advanced IMU sensor, and a long-range laser rangefinder, the i85 provides a versatile solution for surveyors and engineers seeking to improve data collection productivity and safety.
The i85 is equipped with a 1408-channel GNSS chip and CHCNAV’s iStar2.0 engine to deliver consistent positioning, even during periods of increased solar activity. For areas where GNSS signals are obstructed, such as dense canopies or near building faces, the integrated laser module allows for the remote capture of 3D coordinates. The system provides laser measurement accuracy of 2 cm at a 5-meter range and 3 cm at a 10-meter range.
The i85 incorporates an industrial-grade green laser that maintains high visibility in bright outdoor conditions, with resistance to ambient light levels up to 50,000 lux. The receiver includes an 8 MP camera that functions as a high-definition digital telescope, ensuring that distant targets remain clear and well-defined when zoomed in.
The i85 is fully integrated with CHCNAV’s LandStar field software, which provides a comprehensive workflow for data collection and stakeout tasks. The receiver’s vision capabilities support Augmented Reality (AR) navigation and visual stakeout, where digital designs are overlaid on the real-world camera view.
Designed for demanding conditions, the i85 features an IP68-rated reinforced metal chassis, ensuring resilience against dust, water, and 2-meter drops. With up to 20 hours of battery life and adaptive 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, the device supports uninterrupted operation across extended shifts.
